I must confess to being a bit of a Rampell fanboy, ever since your televised takedown of partisan hack Stephen Moore (after which my face may or may not have looked something like 😍).
Also, you had the most brilliant idea for the COVID economy, advocating for a "deep freeze" rather than an inflationary stimulus. I often wonder where we might be now if we'd taken your advice.
While I admit I'm still skeptical about the decline of mainstream news organizations and the idea of replacing them with Substacks, the Bulwark is special. There's a dedication to integrity and a mindfulness there that is unique, and I'm proud to have been a reader since they were just getting off the ground, and a subscriber since day one of Bulwark+.
For me, the Bulwark and the Atlantic are my indispensable news sources, and I'm happy to see you jump the sadly sinking ship that is the Wapo and become a part of the publications I actually read every day (unless I'm taking a mental health holiday from the news).
Also, congrats on your new addition. We had ours in 2016, right before the world went to hell. Glad that some of us still haven't given up on the continuation of the human race. 😏
Excellent - don’t know your work but if you’re good enough to attract JVL and Sarah m’s attention then you’re amazing - looking forward to hearing from someone other than JVL on finance/economics - he’s great but like to have someone who can take a deeper dive into the arcane and dangerous world of crypto, AI and hedge fund corruption.
